Λέξεις κλειδιά + examples:

Αγοράζω: buy, purchase (και οι αγορές)
Customers are advised to keep an eye on their purchases while still in the shop!

Πουλάω, εμπόρευμα: merchandise
Jack's post is to stock merchandise onto the shelves of a grocery shop.

Καλή ευκαιρία: bargain
Look! These shoes you wanted are 30% off. Go ahead and get them, it's a bargain!

Παζαρεύω: bargain, drive a bargain
Jill tried to bargain but the cashier was rather reluctant.

Κοιτάω βιτρίνες: window shopping
Me and my best friends are going window shopping down town on Saturday.

Μάρκα: brand
You're such a clothes horse! Didn't you buy a pair of Gucci heels last week? 
Stop being after brands! This mania breaks the bank!!

Καρτελάκι (π.χ. σε ρούχα): label
Oh my god! These leggings look amazing! Where's the label? Am I supposed to guess how much they are? 

 Mall - Shopping centre - Department store 

Είδη προϊόντων που μπορείς να βρεις εκεί:

Cosmetics - καλλυντικά
Electronics - ηλεκτρονικά είδη
(Household) applilances - ηλεκτρικές συσκευές για το σπίτι και λοιπά είδη σπιτιού
Food & deli - σουπερμέρκετ και ντελικατέσεν
Clothing (sportswear, beachwear etc) - ρούχα (αθλητικά, μαγιό κλπ)
Furniture - έπιπλα
Garden - είδη κηπουρικής
Jewellery counter - (κοσμηματοπωλείο)
Stationery - είδη γραφείου
Whitegoods - λευκά είδη (κουρτίνες, σεντόνια κλπ)

Όταν απλά θέλεις να χαζέψεις:

Shopping assistant: Hi, can I help you? 

Customer: I'm just browsing, thanks. 

(Απλά κοιτάω,ευχαριστώ.)

Μια κλασσική συζήτηση σε μαγαζί:

Assistant: Good morning, can I help you?
Customer: Yes, do you have those jeans of your latest catalogue in stock?
Assistant: Sure, there're some left. Which is your size?
Customer: Medium, please. 
Assistant: Here you are.
Customer: Thank you, where can I try them on?
Assistant: The changing rooms are on the first floor. You may take the elevator (ή lift= ασανσέρ).
Customer: That's fine, I'll take the escalator (κυλιόμενες σκάλες).

Όταν η πωλήτρια σε βοηθά να διαλέξεις μπλουζάκι:

Customer: Can you recommend a top that matches my skirt? (προτείνω / ταιριάζει)
Assistant: Of course. What about this shirt? It looks like the perfect match!
Customer: Hmm... Let me try it on.
(Customer gets into the changing room and put the shirt on)

Assistant: So, does it fit? It looks really cozy. (σας κάνει; / άνετο)
Customer: It's a good fit. I think the combination sits very well on me. ( μου "κάθησε" καλά, μου έστρωσε καλά)
Assistant: It definitely does...And I bet you'll wear this bikini well too. (θα σου πάει τέλεια)

Στο ταμείο για αλλαγή και ερωτήσεις:

Could I have a refund? (Γίνεται επιστροφή χρημάτων;)

I'd like to change this for a different size. (Θα ήθελα να το αλλάξω και να πάρω άλλο νούμερο.)

Does this device come with a warranty? (Έχει και εγγύηση αυτή η συσκευή;)

Couldn't you open another register?! The queue is long and my husband's already gone to the parking lot and waits for me!! (Δεν μπορείτε να ανοίξετε άλλο ταμείο; Η "ουρά" είναι τεράστια και ο άντρας μου έχει ήδη πάει στο πάρκινγκ και με περιμένει)

Μάθε περισσότερα για το ταμείο και λεπτομέρειες για το σουπερμάρκετ: Τουρίστας σε ξένο supermarket!! Vocabulary στα Αγγλικά που σε σώζει. 
Για το αεροδρόμιο: Αγγλικά στο αεροδρόμιο: Λεξιλόγιο S.O.S  
Αγγλικά στο τηλέφωνο. Μην λες ΝΑΙ:  Αγγλικά στο τηλέφωνο!! 4 απλά βήματα!!
